Important info for you with a BMW 5 Series Touring F11 2011 -> 2017
A Touring 5 Series from BMW is a station wagon in the large class. Naturally, you have a car with a deep boot, which is a good starting point when looking for your new dog cage. However, there are some things you should be aware of when choosing a dog cage, because dog cages are not what BMS had in mind when they developed this car model. So read our tips on what to look for when choosing a dog cage that fits in the boot of your car.
- On the sides of the boot, there are 2 "hinges" that secure the tailgate. Under these hinges there is only about 63cm in height. This means that with many dog cages, you can't get it all the way to the side. If you want to optimally utilise the space in the boot, you need a cage around 60cm in height.
- You have a very slanted rear window, so even if there's plenty of depth in your boot, be aware of the top of the cage. If the top is too deep, you won't be able to close the rear window.
- The best dog cages for your pet are from the K9 Pro brand - e.g. model Hercules 61,62,63. They are more expensive, but make optimal use of the space in the boot.
