Important info for you with a Mercedes C-Class W206 2021 -> ? (not hybrid)
The boot of your Mercedes W206 is almost identical to the previous generation W205. So if you've moved from a W205 to the newer W206, and you already have a dog cage, you can most likely use your old dog cage.
There's plenty of depth in this estate car, but there are also some design decisions from Mercedes that make it not the easiest car in the world to find a dog crate for. Therefore, not all dog cages will fit. Especially the taller cages are difficult to fit. You should also be aware that it's difficult to utilise the full depth of your boot. This is because the very slanted rear window means that the cage doesn't have to be so big that you can't close the tailgate. Therefore, keep this in mind:
- Even if you have good depth in the boot, in many cases the top of the dog cage will hit your rear window if the cage is too deep.
- Some of the more expensive brands such as the K9 Pro take this into account. But if your budget doesn't allow for expensive dog cages, look at a SafeCrate cage that utilises the width instead. It won't give you the same optimal use of the boot space, but it's much cheaper.
- Keep in mind that you don't have the same space on the sides as in the centre. This is because the rear window curves slightly to the sides.
