Important info for you with a 2017 Skoda Kodiaq 5-Seater -> ?
There's good news and bad news for those who drive a 5-seater Skoda Kodiaq. The good news is that, as always when Skoda develops car models, there is a huge boot. There's plenty of width and plenty of depth. The bottom of most cars' boot is level with the opening of the tailgate itself. But because your Kodiaq is a tall SUV, there's also room to lower the boot so you have a high loading edge in the car.
This gives extra volume in the boot, but the high edge is also the car's big weakness. Some of our dog cages are equipped with a step so that the door of the cage itself is raised up to 21cm above the bottom of the cage. This is usually enough to allow the door to open over the edge of the loading area on cars with a lowered boot. Just not in a Kodiaq 5-seater car. This means that no matter which dog carrier you choose, you have to raise the carrier for the door to open. Fortunately, it's easy and you can raise it by, for example, putting a piece of cardboard in the bottom or with a polythene sheet. They can be bought cheaply in any DIY store.
