Important info for those with a Tesla Model S 2012 -> ?
The super popular Tesla S, which has been on the market since 2012, has not changed its design since its launch. Although a Model S isn't the most obvious choice for dog cages, we're actually pleasantly impressed by how many different models can fit in the boot of the car. There's considerably more choice than in other saloon or coupe cars. However, you still have a very, very slanted rear window, so you need to pay attention to the height of the cage so you don't risk the top of the cage hitting the rear window.
Fortunately, there's plenty of depth in the boot, and if you line up the cage with the back seat and utilise the width so the cage doesn't protrude too far into the boot itself, you have a lot of options, whether you have a large or small dog.
- Most dog crates will fit as long as they are no more than 75cm deep and 60cm high.
- If you want a taller dog cage, choose a model with more width and less depth. Then you'll have room for models up to 66cm high
- The dog cages that make the best use of space are from K9 Pro. These are more expensive dog cages, but they are designed to maximise the space in the boot.
